Alendon Tablet 70 mg contains Alendronic Acid, a bisphosphonate used in the prevention and treatment of bone loss disorders. Alendon Tablet 70 mg is indicated for:
Treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women
Osteoporosis in men
Glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis
Paget’s disease of bone
Bisphosphonate
Alendronic Acid is a nitrogen-containing bisphosphonate that inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. It binds strongly to hydroxyapatite in bone, particularly at sites of active bone remodeling. By inhibiting osteoclast activity, alendronic acid reduces bone turnover, allowing osteoblasts to build new bone more effectively. This results in increased bone mineral density and improved bone strength, thereby lowering the risk of fractures.
