Tobrabac Eye Drop 0.30% contains Tobramycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial eye infections. It works by stopping the growth of infection-causing bacteria in the eye. This medication is commonly prescribed for conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other external ocular infections.

Composition

Each ml contains:

• Tobramycin 0.30%

Indications

Tobrabac Eye Drop is indicated for:

• Bacterial conjunctivitis
• Blepharitis (eyelid infection)
• Keratitis caused by susceptible bacteria
• External eye infections
• Post-operative bacterial eye infection prevention (as prescribed)

Mechanism of Action

Tobramycin works by binding to bacterial ribosomes and inhibiting protein synthesis. This prevents bacteria from growing and multiplying, ultimately leading to bacterial cell death. It is effective against a wide range of gram-negative and some gram-positive organisms responsible for eye infections.

Dosage & Administration

• Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) as prescribed by a physician
• Usually used every 4–6 hours depending on severity of infection
• In severe cases, dosing frequency may be increased initially
• Wash hands before use
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve

Precautions

• For ophthalmic use only
• Remove contact lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinsertion
• Do not use for viral or fungal eye infections
• Avoid prolonged use without medical supervision
• Use cautiously in patients with hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides

Side Effects

Possible side effects include:

• Temporary eye irritation or burning
