Indications

Spirocard Tablet is indicated for:

• Congestive heart failure with edema
• Resistant hypertension (as adjunct therapy)
• Ascites due to liver cirrhosis
• Nephrotic syndrome with fluid retention
• Primary hyperaldosteronism
• Management of hypokalemia in diuretic-treated patients

Mechanism of Action

Spironolactone acts as an aldosterone receptor antagonist in the distal renal tubules. It blocks aldosterone-mediated sodium and water retention while reducing potassium excretion.
