Indications

Radizid 80 mg is indicated for:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus (non–insulin-dependent diabetes)

• Patients whose blood sugar is not adequately controlled by diet and exercise alone

• As monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetic agents or insulin (as advised by a physician)

It is not indicated for Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Mechanism of Action

Gliclazide belongs to the sulfonylurea group. It works by:

• Stimulating beta cells in the pancreas to release insulin
