Composition

Each ml of ophthalmic solution contains:

Mechanism of Action

Moxifloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes that are essential for bacterial DNA replication, repair, and transcription. Its dual-enzyme inhibition mechanism reduces the risk of bacterial resistance and ensures broad coverage against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms commonly associated with eye infections.

Indications

Odycin Eye Drop 0.50% is indicated for the treatment of bacterial eye infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, including:

• Bacterial conjunctivitis

• Blepharitis

• Keratitis

• Other superficial ocular infections
  It may also be prescribed for the prevention of infection following eye surgery or ocular procedures, as advised by an ophthalmologist.

Dosage and Administration

The usual recommended dosage is one drop into the affected eye(s) as directed by a physician, typically two to three times daily depending on the severity of the infection. Patients should complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve earlier, to ensure complete eradication of the infection. Proper hand hygiene should be maintained before and after application.
