Leptic ODT Tablet 0.25 mg contains Clonazepam, a benzodiazepine with potent anticonvulsant and anxiolytic properties. This formulation is presented as an orally disintegrating tablet (ODT), designed to dissolve quickly in the mouth without the need for water. It offers convenience and ease of administration, especially for pediatric, geriatric, and patients who have difficulty swallowing conventional tablets.
Clonazepam acts on the central nervous system to control seizure activity and reduce symptoms of panic disorder. By enhancing inhibitory neurotransmission in the brain, Leptic ODT 0.25 mg helps stabilize abnormal electrical activity and prevent sudden episodes of seizures or panic attacks.
The low-dose 0.25 mg strength is particularly useful for initiating therapy, gradual dose titration, and managing sensitive patient populations requiring smaller doses.

Leptic ODT Tablet 0.25 mg is indicated for:
Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia
Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (petit mal variant)
Akinetic seizures
Myoclonic seizures
Absence seizures (petit mal)
Adjunct therapy in generalized and focal epilepsies
It may also be used in patients who require flexible dosing adjustments during the early phase of treatment.
Adjunct anti-epileptic drugs
Benzodiazepine hypnotics
Clonazepam enhances the effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), the primary inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. It binds to the GABA-A receptor complex, increasing the frequency of chloride channel opening and promoting neuronal hyperpolarization. This reduces excessive neuronal firing associated with seizures and panic attacks.
Electroencephalographic studies show that clonazepam suppresses spike-and-wave discharges in absence seizures and reduces abnormal electrical activity in both focal and generalized epilepsies. It also possesses sedative, muscle-relaxant, and anxiolytic effects typical of benzodiazepines.
Dosage should be individualized based on the patient’s condition and physician recommendation.
