Ketomar 100 ml is indicated for:

• Prophylactic treatment of bronchial asthma

• Symptomatic relief of allergic conditions, including:

  • Allergic rhinitis

Pharmacology

Ketomar 100 ml possesses a powerful non-competitive histamine (H1) receptor blocking action, which helps prevent allergic reactions. Its mechanism includes:

• Stabilization of mast cells and basophils, preventing mediator release

• Inhibition of histamine, leukotrienes, prostaglandins, and platelet activating factor (PAF)

• Reduction of eosinophil chemotaxis and degranulation

• Prevention of asthmatic attacks

Through these actions, Ketomar effectively suppresses hypersensitivity and inflammation in allergic and asthmatic conditions.

Dosage and Administration

Adults:

• 1 mg twice daily with food

• May increase to 2 mg twice daily in severe cases

Children above 2 years:

• 1 mg twice daily with food

• Children prone to sedation may start with 0.5–1 mg at night for the first few days

Elderly:

• Same as adult dosage or as advised by the physician

Drug Interactions

• Concomitant use with oral antidiabetic agents may cause reversible platelet count reduction; combination should generally be avoided

Contraindications
