Each film-coated tablet contains:

Mechanism of Action

Gemifloxacin exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting two essential bacterial enzymes: DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are required for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair. By blocking these enzymes, Gemifloxacin prevents bacterial growth and leads to bacterial cell death.

Indications

Gemif Tablet 320 mg is indicated for:

• Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
• Community-acquired pneumonia
• Upper respiratory tract infections (as prescribed)
• Acute sinusitis
• Other susceptible bacterial infections caused by sensitive organisms

Dosage and Administration

• To be taken orally as directed by a physician
• Usually taken once daily
• Can be taken with or without food
• Should be swallowed whole with water
• Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve early

Contraindications

Gemif Tablet should not be used in:
