Adinir Capsule 300 mg contains Cefdinir, a third-generation oral cephalosporin antibiotic widely used in the treatment of various bacterial infections in adults and adolescents. Cefdinir offers broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, making it effective for common community-acquired infections. The capsule formulation ensures convenient dosing and reliable systemic absorption, helping achieve effective therapeutic outcomes when taken as prescribed.

Cefdinir acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins, disrupting the final stage of peptidoglycan formation required for maintaining bacterial cell wall strength. This leads to cell wall instability, bacterial lysis, and eventual cell death. Cefdinir is stable against many beta-lactamases produced by resistant organisms, contributing to its effectiveness against a broad range of pathogens.
Adinir Capsule 300 mg is administered orally.
The usual adult dose is 300 mg every 12 hours or 600 mg once daily, depending on the type and severity of infection
Capsules should be swallowed whole with water
May be taken with or without food
Treatment duration typically ranges from 5 to 14 days based on clinical response
Patients should complete the full course of therapy even if symptoms improve early.
Iron supplements and iron-fortified products may reduce the absorption of Cefdinir. If co-administration is necessary, doses should be separated by at least 2 hours. Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium may also interfere with Cefdinir absorption and should be taken at different times.
Adinir Capsule 300 mg is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Cefdinir, other cephalosporins, or any ingredient of the formulation.
Common adverse effects include diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, headache, and skin rash. Rare but serious reactions may include allergic responses, pseudomembranous colitis, and hematological abnormalities. Reddish discoloration of stool may occur when taken with iron products and is generally harmless.

Caution is advised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, particularly colitis. Patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillins should be monitored due to possible cross-reactivity. Prolonged use may result in superinfection with non-susceptible organisms.
Cefdinir should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed and under medical supervision. Caution is recommended during breastfeeding, as small amounts of the drug may be excreted in breast milk.
Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
