Dilapress Tablet 25 mg contains Carvedilol, a potent antihypertensive and cardioprotective agent used for the long-term management of high blood pressure and various cardiovascular disorders. Carvedilol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocker with additional alpha-1 blocking properties, offering effective blood pressure reduction along with comprehensive heart protection. The 25 mg strength is typically prescribed for patients who require a higher maintenance dose to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.

Each tablet contains:
Carvedilol 25 mg
Beta-blocker with alpha-1 blocking activity
Antihypertensive and heart failure management agent
Carvedilol acts by blocking beta-1, beta-2, and alpha-1 adrenergic receptors. Beta-1 receptor blockade reduces heart rate and myocardial contractility, which lowers cardiac output and myocardial oxygen demand. Alpha-1 receptor blockade leads to vasodilation of peripheral blood vessels, reducing systemic vascular resistance and thereby lowering blood pressure.
In contrast to conventional beta-blockers, carvedilol does not cause reflex tachycardia and also exhibits antioxidant properties that help protect cardiac muscle cells from oxidative damage. It improves left ventricular function and has been shown to reduce morbidity and mortality in patients with chronic heart failure. After oral administration, carvedilol is well absorbed and extensively metabolized by the liver.

Dilapress Tablet 25 mg is indicated for the treatment of:
Hypertension
Chronic stable angina pectoris
Mild to severe chronic heart failure (as adjunct therapy)
Left ventricular dysfunction following myocardial infarction
Regular treatment helps control blood pressure, prevent disease progression, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.
Hypertension: The usual maintenance dose may be 25 mg once daily or in divided doses, depending on patient response.
Heart failure: Therapy is initiated at a low dose and gradually titrated up to 25 mg under close medical supervision.
Dilapress Tablet should be taken with food to minimize the risk of postural hypotension. Dose adjustments should be made only by a healthcare professional.
Dilapress Tablet 25 mg is contraindicated in patients with:
Bronchial asthma or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Severe bradycardia
Second or third-degree atrioventricular block
Cardiogenic shock
Severe hepatic impairment
Known hypersensitivity to carvedilol
Use with caution in diabetic patients, as carvedilol may mask symptoms of hypoglycemia.
Sudden withdrawal should be avoided; tapering is necessary to prevent worsening of angina or heart failure.
Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, peripheral vascular disease, or thyroid disorders.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is recommended.
Dilapress Tablet is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include:
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Fatigue
Hypotension
Bradycardia
Gastrointestinal disturbances
Most adverse effects are mild and decrease with continued therapy.
Pregnancy: Should be used only when clearly indicated and prescribed by a physician.
Lactation: Use with caution, as carvedilol may be excreted in breast milk.
Elderly patients: Careful dose titration is recommended.
