Ziflu 20 mg is a zinc supplement designed to prevent and treat zinc deficiency and zinc-losing conditions. Zinc is an essential trace element required for multiple physiological functions, including growth, immune defense, wound healing, reproduction, and sensory perception. Ziflu 20 mg helps restore zinc levels in patients with inadequate dietary intake, malabsorption, or excessive zinc loss due to conditions such as trauma, burns, diarrhea, or protein-losing states.

Specific Mineral Preparations
Ziflu 20 mg is indicated for:
Zinc Deficiency: Caused by inadequate dietary intake or malabsorption syndromes.
Zinc-Losing Conditions: Such as trauma, burns, chronic diarrhea, and protein-losing conditions.
Supportive Therapy: In metabolic disorders or severe malabsorption where long-term supplementation may be necessary.
Regular use of Ziflu 20 mg helps improve immune function, support wound healing, enhance growth and development, and restore reproductive health.
Zinc sulphate monohydrate, the active ingredient in Ziflu 20 mg, is vital for the activity of over 300 enzymes involved in metabolic processes. Zinc supports:
Normal growth and sexual maturation
Reproductive health and fertility
Immune system function and infection defense
Wound healing and tissue repair
Dark adaptation and normal vision
Taste and smell perception
Insulin storage and release
Zinc deficiency may manifest as delayed wound healing, impaired immunity, alopecia, poor night vision, taste and smell disturbances, mental lethargy, skin changes, and underdeveloped reproductive organs.
Children under 10 kg: 5 ml (1 teaspoon) twice daily after meals.
Children 10–30 kg: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 1–3 times daily after meals.
Adults and children over 30 kg: 20 ml (4 teaspoons) 1–3 times daily after meals.
For dispersible tablets: Place the tablet in a teaspoon, add water, allow it to dissolve completely, and administer the entire solution.
For best absorption, zinc should be taken at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals; if gastrointestinal upset occurs, it may be taken with food.
Tetracyclines: Zinc may reduce absorption of tetracyclines and vice versa.
Quinolones: Concomitant use may decrease absorption of both drugs.
Penicillamine: Zinc absorption may be reduced when used concurrently.
Hypersensitivity to zinc or any components of the preparation.
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Stomach upset
Heartburn
Gastritis
Side effects are generally mild and often resolve with dosage adjustment or administration with food.
In patients with acute renal failure, zinc may accumulate; dose adjustment is necessary.
Use with caution in pregnancy and lactation, as zinc crosses the placenta and is present in breast milk.
Store in a dry place, away from light and heat. Keep out of reach of children.
Zinc acts as a cofactor for numerous enzymatic reactions and plays a central role in growth, immune function, tissue repair, sensory perception, and reproductive health. Supplementation with Ziflu 20 mg restores zinc levels in deficient states, supporting overall health and recovery from zinc-depleting conditions.
