Indications

Traxef Injection is indicated for:

• Severe respiratory tract infections (including pneumonia)
• Complicated urinary tract infections
• Severe skin and soft tissue infections
• Intra-abdominal infections (including peritonitis)
• Septicemia (bloodstream infections)
• Meningitis
• Bone and joint infections
• Gonococcal infections
• Other serious infections caused by susceptible organisms

Mechanism of Action

Ceftriaxone inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This results in:

• Disruption of cell wall formation
• Structural weakening of bacteria
