Composition

Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Tinidazole 500 mg

Indications

T-zol Tablet is indicated for:

• Amoebiasis (intestinal and hepatic)
• Giardiasis
• Trichomoniasis infections
• Bacterial vaginosis
• Anaerobic bacterial infections
• Dental and abdominal infections caused by anaerobic organisms

Mechanism of Action

Tinidazole works by entering the cells of susceptible microorganisms and damaging their DNA structure. This inhibits nucleic acid synthesis, leading to cell death of protozoa and anaerobic bacteria. As a result, the infection is cleared and symptoms gradually improve.

Dosage & Administration

• Dosage should be determined by a physician based on infection type and severity
• Usually taken once or twice daily with or after food to reduce stomach upset
• Tablets should be swallowed whole with water
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
• Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48–72 hours after completion

Precautions

• Avoid alcohol consumption due to risk of disulfiram-like reaction
• Use cautiously in patients with liver impairment
• Not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy unless clearly necessary
• May cause dizziness; caution while driving or operating machinery
• Inform physician about other ongoing medications
