Composition

Each tablet contains:

Indications

Thalidon Tablet is indicated for:

• Essential hypertension (mild to moderate)
• Edema due to heart failure
• Fluid retention in kidney or liver disorders
• Prevention of stroke and cardiovascular complications in hypertensive patients
• Adjunct therapy in resistant hypertension

Mechanism of Action

Chlorthalidone acts on the distal convoluted tubule of the kidney, inhibiting sodium and chloride reabsorption. This increases excretion of sodium and water, reducing blood volume and peripheral vascular resistance. The result is a sustained reduction in blood pressure and decreased fluid overload.

Dosage & Administration

• Dosage should be determined by a physician based on condition severity
• Usually taken once daily, preferably in the morning
• Can be taken with or without food
• Regular monitoring of blood pressure and electrolytes is recommended
