Symbion Inhalation Capsule 200 mcg + 6 mcg contains a combination of Budesonide and Formoterol Fumarate, designed for inhalation therapy in patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This dual-action formulation combines an inhaled corticosteroid with a long-acting bronchodilator to provide both anti-inflammatory and bronchodilatory effects.
Symbion helps control airway inflammation, reduce bronchial hyper-responsiveness, and improve airflow, making breathing easier and reducing the frequency of asthma attacks and COPD exacerbations. It is intended for maintenance treatment and should not be used for immediate relief of acute bronchospasm.

Combination Inhaled Corticosteroid and Long-Acting Beta2-Agonist (LABA)
Symbion Inhalation Capsule 200 mcg + 6 mcg is indicated for:
Maintenance treatment of asthma in adults and adolescents
Prevention of asthma symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness
Maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Reduction of COPD exacerbations
It is prescribed when combination therapy is appropriate and when symptoms are not adequately controlled by inhaled corticosteroids alone.
Budesonide is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the airways. It works by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators, decreasing swelling and mucus production, and improving airway responsiveness.
Formoterol Fumarate is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that relaxes the smooth muscles of the bronchi. It provides prolonged bronchodilation by stimulating beta2 receptors in the lungs, leading to improved airflow and sustained symptom control.
Together, Budesonide and Formoterol provide a complementary mechanism of action—controlling both the underlying inflammation and bronchoconstriction associated with asthma and COPD.
The dosage should be individualized according to the severity of the condition and physician’s recommendation.
Usually inhaled once or twice daily as prescribed
Capsules are for inhalation use only and must not be swallowed
Use with a compatible dry powder inhaler device
Rinse mouth with water after inhalation to reduce the risk of oral candidiasis
Patients should use the inhaler regularly, even when asymptomatic, to achieve optimal control.
Not indicated for relief of acute asthma attacks
Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, diabetes, or thyroid disorders
Prolonged use may increase the risk of systemic corticosteroid effects
Monitor growth in adolescents during long-term therapy
Inform the physician about any ongoing medications
Common side effects may include:
Throat irritation
Hoarseness
Oral candidiasis
Headache
Palpitations
Tremor
