Indications

Rubalon Suspension 0.10% is indicated for the treatment of ocular inflammatory conditions, including:

• Allergic conjunctivitis

• Keratitis

• Post-operative ocular inflammation (following cataract surgery, keratoplasty, or corneal procedures)

• Uveitis (anterior segment)

• Other non-infectious inflammatory eye disorders

Pharmacology and Mode of Action

Fluorometholone Acetate, the active ingredient, is a corticosteroid that suppresses inflammation by:

1. Inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes

2. Reducing vascular permeability, thereby decreasing edema and redness

3. Suppressing leukocyte migration into ocular tissues

Its topical application ensures that the drug acts directly on inflamed ocular tissues, providing fast relief with minimal systemic absorption.

Dosage and Administration

• Adults and children: One to two drops in the affected eye(s) 2–4 times daily, or as directed by a physician

• Post-operative use: Dosing may be adjusted depending on the severity of inflammation

• Duration: Therapy should be limited to the shortest period necessary to control inflammation

• Shake the suspension well before use to ensure uniform distribution of the medication

• Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any surface to prevent contamination

Drug Interactions

• Concomitant use with other ophthalmic medications should be done with caution; allow at least 5 minutes between different eye drops

• Caution when using Rubalon with drugs that increase intraocular pressure or in patients using systemic corticosteroids

Contraindications
