Reumafen 200 mg is indicated for:
Pain relief in conditions such as headache, dental pain, menstrual cramps, and musculoskeletal pain.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) – Analgesic, Anti-inflammatory, Antipyretic
Ibuprofen, the active ingredient in Reumafen 200 mg, is a propionic acid derivative that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes. These enzymes are responsible for the conversion of arachidonic acid into prostaglandins, which are mediators of pain, inflammation, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin synthesis, Ibuprofen decreases:
Inflammation: Reduces swelling, redness, and pain in inflamed tissues.
Pain sensation: Provides relief from acute and chronic pain.
Fever: Lowers elevated body temperature in febrile states.
The drug is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and has a plasma half-life of approximately 2 hours, allowing for effective pain control with multiple daily doses.
Adults and adolescents (12 years and older): 200–400 mg every 4–6 hours as needed. Maximum daily dose should not exceed 1200 mg for over-the-counter use, or 2400 mg under medical supervision.
Children under 12 years: Use pediatric formulations; dosing based on body weight as prescribed by a physician.
Take with food or milk to reduce the risk of gastrointestinal irritation.
Swallow tablets whole with a sufficient amount of water.
Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin): May increase bleeding risk.
Other NSAIDs or corticosteroids: Increased risk of gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding.
Antihypertensive drugs: NSAIDs may reduce efficacy of ACE inhibitors, ARBs, or diuretics.
Lithium or methotrexate: Risk of increased plasma levels and toxicity.
Hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen or other NSAIDs.
History of NSAID-induced asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions.
Active gastrointestinal bleeding, peptic ulcer, or severe liver/kidney impairment.
Third trimester of pregnancy.
Common side effects include:
Gastrointestinal discomfort: nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal pain
Headache, dizziness
Rash or mild allergic reactions
Rare but serious effects: gastrointestinal bleeding, renal impairment, cardiovascular events
Gastrointestinal risk: Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration to minimize ulceration or bleeding.
Renal and hepatic monitoring: Recommended in patients with kidney or liver disease.
Cardiovascular caution: Long-term use may increase risk of heart attack or stroke.
Pregnancy & Lactation: Avoid in the third trimester; use during pregnancy only if benefits outweigh risks. Caution is advised during breastfeeding.
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Reumafen 200 mg works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis. This leads to decreased inflammation, pain, and fever, while providing relief in a variety of musculoskeletal and inflammatory conditions. Its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties make it suitable for both acute and chronic management of pain-related disorders.
