Radiglip Tablet 100 mg contains Sitagliptin 100 mg, an oral antidiabetic medicine used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the class of DPP-4 (dipeptidyl peptidase-4) inhibitors and helps improve blood glucose control by enhancing the body’s natural incretin hormones.

Indications

Radiglip 100 mg is indicated for:

• Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus

• Improvement of glycemic control in adults

• Monotherapy when diet and exercise alone are insufficient

• Combination therapy with:

  • Metformin

  • Sulfonylureas

  • Insulin

  • Thiazolidinediones

  • SGLT2 inhibitors (as prescribed)

It is not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

Mechanism of Action

Sitagliptin works by inhibiting the enzyme DPP-4, which breaks down incretin hormones such as GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) and GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide).

By blocking DPP-4, sitagliptin:

• Increases insulin release in a glucose-dependent manner

• Decreases glucagon secretion
