Indications

Pretin 10 mg is indicated for:

• Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever)

• Perennial allergic rhinitis

• Chronic urticaria and other allergic skin conditions, including nettlerash

• Symptomatic relief of sneezing, nasal discharge, itching, ocular itching, and burning

• Idiopathic urticaria

• In children over 2 years: symptomatic relief of seasonal allergic rhinitis and skin allergies

Pretin 10 mg is a tricyclic antihistamine with selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonistic activity. Dosage and Administration

Adults and children ≥12 years:

• One 10 mg tablet once daily (usually in the morning or as needed)

Children 2–12 years:

• Body weight >30 kg: 10 mg once daily

• Body weight <30 kg: 5 mg once daily

Children <2 years:

• Use not recommended due to insufficient safety and efficacy data

Syrup form:

• Children 2–5 years: 5 mg (1 teaspoonful) once daily

• Adults and children ≥6 years: 10 mg (2 teaspoonfuls) once daily

Drug Interactions

• No major hazardous interactions reported

• Unlike many H1-antihistamines, Pretin does not potentiate alcohol effects

• Drugs affecting CYP3A4 and CYP2D6 (e.g., cimetidine, erythromycin, ketoconazole) may elevate Pretin plasma levels, but no significant adverse effects observed
