Monas Chewable Tablet 5 mg contains Montelukast Sodium, a leukotriene receptor antagonist used for the prevention and long-term management of asthma and allergic conditions. It is specially formulated as a chewable tablet, making it convenient and suitable for children and patients who have difficulty swallowing conventional tablets.
Montelukast works by blocking leukotrienes, which are inflammatory chemicals released in the body during allergic reactions. By reducing inflammation and narrowing of the airways, Monas helps improve breathing and control allergy symptoms effectively.

Leukotriene Receptor Antagonist
Anti-asthmatic and Anti-allergic Agent
Monas Chewable Tablet 5 mg is indicated for:
Prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma
Prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction
Relief of symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis
Relief of perennial allergic rhinitis
Control of wheezing and breathing difficulty
It is intended for regular use to prevent symptoms and not for the treatment of acute asthma attacks.
Montelukast selectively blocks cysteinyl leukotriene (CysLT1) receptors in the lungs and bronchial tubes. Leukotrienes are responsible for airway inflammation, bronchoconstriction, mucus production, and swelling in asthma and allergic conditions.
By inhibiting these receptors, Monas:
Reduces airway inflammation
Prevents bronchospasm
Decreases mucus production
Improves airflow
Minimizes allergic symptoms such as sneezing and nasal congestion
The effect helps maintain better respiratory function and reduces the frequency of asthma attacks.
