Lopadine 0.1% is an ophthalmic solution formulated for the treatment of ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis. It is a non-steroidal antihistamine eye drop that provides rapid relief from symptoms of eye allergy, including itching, redness, and irritation.

Ophthalmic Non-Steroid Drugs
Lopadine 0.1% (Olopatadine) works by:
Histamine H1 receptor antagonism: Blocks histamine-mediated allergic responses in the conjunctiva.
Mast cell stabilization: Inhibits release of histamine and other inflammatory mediators from mast cells, preventing further allergic reactions.
Olopatadine is highly selective for H1 receptors and does not affect alpha-adrenergic, dopamine, or muscarinic receptors, reducing the risk of systemic side effects. Following ocular administration, systemic absorption is minimal.
Lopadine 0.1% is indicated for:
Relief of ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis
Management of seasonal or perennial eye allergies
0.1% Eye Drops: One drop in each affected eye twice daily, spaced 6–8 hours apart.
0.2% Eye Drops: One drop in the affected eye once daily.
0.7% Eye Drops: One drop in each affected eye once daily.
Special instructions:
Remove contact lenses before administration.
Wait at least 10 minutes after instillation before reinserting soft contact lenses.
Additive CNS depression may occur with CNS depressants.
Known hypersensitivity to Olopatadine or any component of the ophthalmic solution.
Common and mild side effects may include:
Headache (~7% incidence)
Burning or stinging sensation in the eyes
Blurred vision
Dry eye, pruritus, hyperemia
Less common: asthenia, nausea, sinusitis, taste perversion, lid edema
Use only if the potential benefit justifies the risk to the fetus.
Caution is advised when administered to nursing mothers, as systemic absorption is minimal but unknown.
Do not use for contact lens-related irritation.
Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
Symptoms: Drowsiness in adults; agitation followed by drowsiness in children.
Management: Supportive and symptomatic treatment.
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light.
Do not use after 30 days of first opening.
Keep out of reach of children.
Geriatric Use: No significant differences in safety or effectiveness observed compared to younger adults.
