Intramol Eye Drop 0.50% contains Timolol Maleate, a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocking agent used in ophthalmology to reduce elevated intraocular pressure. It is primarily indicated for the management of open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. By effectively lowering intraocular pressure, Intramol Eye Drop helps prevent progressive optic nerve damage and loss of vision associated with glaucoma. Its proven efficacy and well-established safety profile make it a commonly prescribed antiglaucoma medication.

Each ml of solution contains Timolol Maleate equivalent to Timolol 0.50% w/v.
Intramol Eye Drop 0.50% is indicated for:
Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma
Management of ocular hypertension
Adjunctive therapy in patients inadequately controlled with other antiglaucoma medicines
It may be used alone or in combination with other intraocular pressure-lowering agents as prescribed by an ophthalmologist.
Timolol Maleate is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker that reduces intraocular pressure by decreasing aqueous humor production in the ciliary body. Unlike miotic agents, timolol does not significantly affect pupil size or accommodation. The reduction in intraocular pressure occurs within hours after administration and is maintained with regular use. When applied topically to the eye, systemic absorption is minimal, but clinically significant beta-blocker effects may still occur in sensitive individuals.
The dosage of Intramol Eye Drop 0.50% should be determined by an eye care specialist based on clinical response.
Usually one drop instilled into the affected eye(s) once or twice daily
If used with other ophthalmic medications, an interval of at least 5 minutes should be maintained between applications
Patients should avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination and should follow proper instillation techniques.
Intramol Eye Drop 0.50% is contraindicated in patients with:
Bronchial asthma or a history of severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Sinus bradycardia, heart block, or overt cardiac failure
Known hypersensitivity to timolol maleate or any component of the formulation
Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, diabetes mellitus, or thyroid disease
Systemic beta-blocker effects may occur due to absorption
Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided unless advised by a physician
Contact lenses should be removed before instillation and reinserted after an appropriate interval
Intramol Eye Drop 0.50% is generally well tolerated. Possible adverse effects include:
Mild eye irritation or burning sensation
Dry eyes
Blurred vision
Headache
Rare systemic effects such as bradycardia or bronchospasm
Most side effects are mild and transient.
Caution is advised when used concomitantly with:
Systemic beta-blockers
Calcium channel blockers
Antiarrhythmic agents
Concurrent use may enhance systemic beta-blocking effects.
Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use. Keep out of reach of children.
Intramol Eye Drop 0.50% is an effective and reliable ophthalmic beta-blocker for reducing elevated intraocular pressure in glaucoma and ocular hypertension. With consistent use under medical supervision, it plays a vital role in preserving vision and preventing glaucoma-related complications.
