Pharmacology

HandClean Hand Rub combines ethanol (66.5%) and isopropyl alcohol (3.5%), both of which are well-known broad-spectrum antimicrobial agents.

• Ethanol: Denatures proteins, disrupts microbial cell membranes, and effectively inactivates bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

• Isopropyl alcohol: Enhances antimicrobial activity and provides rapid killing of pathogens through membrane disruption and protein denaturation.

The combination of both alcohols ensures enhanced efficacy against a wide range of microorganisms, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, enveloped viruses, and some non-enveloped viruses, while maintaining quick evaporation and minimal residue on hands.

Dosage and Administration

• Apply a sufficient amount (2–3 mL) to the palm of one hand

• Rub hands together, covering all surfaces, including between fingers, fingertips, and nails

• Continue rubbing for 20–30 seconds until the hands are dry

• Use frequently as needed, especially before eating, after contact with contaminated surfaces, or after coughing or sneezing

No rinsing with water or towel drying is required. Frequent use is safe for healthy skin and does not reduce effectiveness.
