Gatiflox Eye Drop 0.30% is indicated for the treatment of:
Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) caused by susceptible organisms
Corneal ulcers and keratitis
Blepharitis and other anterior segment bacterial infections
Post-surgical ocular infections to prevent bacterial contamination
It is suitable for adult and pediatric patients (above the age recommended by the physician) when a broad-spectrum antibiotic is required.
Ophthalmic Antibiotic (Fluoroquinolone)
Gatifloxacin is a bactericidal antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, and repair. By preventing bacterial DNA synthesis, Gatifloxacin effectively kills susceptible bacteria and stops the progression of infection.
The fourth-generation fluoroquinolones, such as gatifloxacin, have enhanced activity against Gram-positive bacteria while retaining strong efficacy against Gram-negative pathogens. This broad spectrum makes Gatiflox Eye Drop effective in treating a variety of ocular infections.
Adults and children (as prescribed):
Instill 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 2–4 hours for the first 2 days, then reduce to 4 times daily for 5–7 days, or as directed by the physician.
Instructions for instillation:
Wash hands thoroughly before use.
Tilt the head backward and pull down the lower eyelid.
Hold the dropper above the eye and instill a single drop into the conjunctival sac.

Recap the bottle immediately after use.
Avoid using other ophthalmic medications simultaneously without an interval of at least 5–10 minutes between applications.
Inform your physician if taking systemic fluoroquinolones or other antibiotics.
Hypersensitivity to gatifloxacin or any other fluoroquinolone
Known allergy to any component of the formulation
