Indications

Foviral Tablet 300 mg is indicated for:

• Treatment of chronic hepatitis B infection in adults and adolescents ≥12 years
• Part of combination antiretroviral therapy (ART) for HIV-1 infection
• Prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (as part of ART) under medical supervision

Dosage and Administration

• Adults and adolescents ≥12 years: 300 mg once daily, orally.
• Take the tablet with or without food.
• Swallow whole with a full glass of water; do not crush or chew.
• Dosage adjustment may be required in patients with renal impairment.
• Continue therapy as prescribed; do not skip doses to maintain viral suppression.

Mechanism of Action

Tenofovir Disoproxil is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor that:

• Converts to tenofovir in the body
• Competes with natural nucleotides during viral DNA synthesis
• Incorporates into viral DNA, terminating chain elongation
