Flexor 10 mg Tablet contains Cyclobenzaprine, a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant used for the short-term relief of muscle spasms associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. It is commonly prescribed as an adjunct to rest and physical therapy to help reduce muscle stiffness, improve mobility, and restore normal daily functioning.

Flexor 10 mg is indicated as an adjunct to rest and physical therapy for the relief of muscle spasm associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. Clinical improvement is demonstrated by:
Relief of muscle spasm
Reduction of associated pain and tenderness
Improved range of motion
Decreased limitation in activities of daily living
Locally Acting Skeletal Muscle Relaxants
Cyclobenzaprine is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant that is structurally related to tricyclic antidepressants and shares several of their pharmacological properties. It exerts its therapeutic effect by acting at the brain stem, where it reduces tonic somatic motor activity. This action influences both alpha (α) and gamma (γ) motor neurons, leading to decreased muscle spasm without directly affecting neuromuscular transmission.
Flexor 10 mg does not act directly on skeletal muscles but works centrally to relieve painful muscle spasms, making it effective in the symptomatic treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.
Flexor 10 mg should be taken orally as prescribed by a physician.
Adults:
Initial dose: 5 mg three times daily
Dose may be increased to 10 mg three times daily if necessary
Maximum daily dose: 60 mg
Duration of treatment should not exceed 2–3 weeks
Elderly:
Initiate therapy with 5 mg
Use less frequent dosing and adjust cautiously
Pediatric Patients:
Safety and effectiveness in children below 15 years of age have not been established
Plasma concentrations of Cyclobenzaprine may increase when used with drugs such as cimetidine, diltiazem, disulfiram, methylphenidate, ritonavir, and verapamil. CNS depressant effects may be enhanced when combined with alcohol, sedatives, anxiolytics, hypnotics, opioids, antipsychotics, or antihistamines.
Concomitant use with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of discontinuation is contraindicated due to the risk of severe adverse reactions. Carbamazepine and rifampicin may increase the metabolism of Cyclobenzaprine, reducing its effectiveness.

Flexor 10 mg is contraindicated in patients with:
Recent myocardial infarction
Cardiac arrhythmias or conduction disturbances
Congestive heart failure
Severe hepatic impairment
Hypersensitivity to Cyclobenzaprine
The most frequently reported adverse effects include:
Drowsiness
Dry mouth
Dizziness
Other less common side effects may include fatigue, headache, nausea, constipation, blurred vision, and confusion.
Flexor 10 mg is classified as Pregnancy Category B. It should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Caution is advised when administering the drug to nursing mothers, as it is not known whether Cyclobenzaprine is excreted in human milk.
Due to its anticholinergic (atropine-like) effects, Flexor 10 mg should be used with caution in patients with a history of urinary retention, angle-closure glaucoma, increased intraocular pressure, or those taking anticholinergic medications. Caution is also advised in elderly patients and those with mild hepatic impairment.
Although rare, overdose with Flexor 10 mg can be serious and potentially fatal. Symptoms may develop rapidly and include cardiac arrhythmias and severe CNS effects. Immediate hospital monitoring and supportive care are required.
In patients with mild hepatic impairment, treatment should begin with a 5 mg dose and be titrated slowly. Use in moderate to severe hepatic impairment is not recommended.
Cyclobenzaprine reduces muscle spasm by acting centrally at the brain stem, decreasing tonic somatic motor activity that influences both alpha and gamma motor systems. This leads to effective relief of painful muscle spasms associated with acute musculoskeletal conditions.
