How Emep MUPS Tablet Works

Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that blocks the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in the acid-producing cells of the stomach.

The MUPS formulation protects the active ingredient from stomach acid until it reaches the intestine, where the enteric-coated pellets dissolve and release Esomeprazole for absorption. Once absorbed, Esomeprazole suppresses gastric acid production by inhibiting the final step of acid secretion. Dosage and Administration

Precautions

Before taking Emep MUPS Tablet, inform your healthcare provider if you:

• Have liver disease
• Have osteoporosis or are at increased risk of bone fractures
• Have low magnesium or vitamin B12 levels
• Are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
• Are taking medicines such as clopidogrel, warfarin, methotrexate, digoxin, diazepam, tacrolimus, or antifungal medications, as interactions may occur
