Azmasol Respirator Solution 2.5 mg/3 ml contains Salbutamol, a well-established short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist used for rapid relief of bronchospasm in patients with reversible airway obstruction. This ready-to-use nebulizer solution is specifically designed to deliver accurate dosing and fast bronchodilation, making it highly suitable for use in hospitals, clinics, and home settings under medical supervision.
Azmasol Respirator Solution is particularly beneficial for patients who experience difficulty using inhalers, such as young children, elderly individuals, and patients during acute asthma attacks. By directly targeting the lungs through nebulization, it ensures quick symptom control and improved breathing comfort.

Azmasol Respirator Solution 2.5 mg/3 ml is indicated for the treatment and prevention of bronchospasm associated with:
Bronchial asthma
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Chronic bronchitis and emphysema
Acute episodes of wheezing and shortness of breath
Exercise-induced bronchospasm
It is effective for both acute relief and regular maintenance therapy as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
Short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (Bronchodilator)
Salbutamol works by selectively stimulating beta-2 adrenergic receptors located in bronchial smooth muscle. Activation of these receptors leads to relaxation of airway muscles, resulting in bronchodilation and improved airflow. This mechanism helps relieve symptoms such as wheezing, chest tightness, coughing, and breathlessness.
When administered via nebulization, salbutamol acts rapidly, with onset of bronchodilation usually occurring within minutes. The effect typically lasts for 4 to 6 hours. Due to localized delivery to the lungs, systemic absorption is limited, which reduces the risk of adverse effects when used at recommended doses.
Adults and Elderly:
One unit dose of 2.5 mg (3 ml) administered via nebulizer up to 3–4 times daily or as directed by the physician.
Children:
One unit dose of 2.5 mg (3 ml) via nebulizer, with dosage frequency adjusted according to age, severity of symptoms, and clinical response.
Azmasol Respirator Solution should be administered using appropriate nebulizing equipment. No dilution is usually required unless advised by a healthcare professional.
Caution is advised when Azmasol Respirator Solution is used with non-selective beta-blockers, as they may antagonize the bronchodilating effect. Concurrent use with other sympathomimetic agents, diuretics, or xanthine derivatives may increase the risk of side effects such as hypokalemia. Careful monitoring is recommended when used alongside monoamine oxidase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants.
Azmasol Respirator Solution is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to salbutamol or any component of the formulation. It should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, or a history of cardiac arrhythmias.
Common side effects include tremor, nervousness, headache, palpitations, muscle cramps, and mild throat irritation. Less common effects may include tachycardia, dizziness, or transient hypokalemia, particularly with frequent or high-dose use.
