Indications

Amlopin Tablet 10 mg is indicated for:

• Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) in adults and children above the recommended age

• Reduction of cardiovascular risks such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and heart failure associated with uncontrolled blood pressure

Pharmacology

Amlodipine Besilate selectively inhibits the transmembrane influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and myocardial cells. By reducing intracellular calcium levels, it causes relaxation and dilation of peripheral arteries, leading to a decrease in systemic vascular resistance. In patients with angina, amlodipine improves myocardial oxygen delivery by dilating coronary arteries and arterioles, thereby reducing ischemia and the frequency of chest pain attacks.
