Acme's DNS Injection is a sterile intravenous infusion containing a balanced combination of Sodium Chloride 0.9% w/v and Dextrose 5% w/v. This dual-component solution is formulated to provide essential electrolytes, fluid replacement, and a readily available source of energy. It is widely used in hospitals and clinical settings for maintaining hydration, electrolyte balance, and caloric support in patients requiring intravenous therapy.

Each 100 ml of solution contains:
Sodium Chloride 0.9 g
Dextrose (Glucose) 5 g
Water for Injection q.s.
The solution is sterile, non-pyrogenic, and intended for intravenous infusion only.
Intravenous electrolyte solution
Caloric and energy supplement
Maintenance fluid
Acme's DNS Injection is indicated for:
Treatment and prevention of dehydration
Maintenance of fluid and electrolyte balance
Management of sodium and chloride loss
Caloric supplementation in patients with inadequate oral intake
Post-operative and post-trauma fluid therapy
It is commonly used in patients with vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or those unable to maintain adequate hydration orally.
Sodium Chloride helps restore and maintain extracellular fluid volume, osmotic balance, and acid-base equilibrium. Sodium and chloride ions are essential for nerve conduction, muscle function, and cellular homeostasis.
Dextrose serves as a readily metabolizable source of energy, supplying calories and preventing protein breakdown during periods of stress or illness.
The combination ensures simultaneous correction of fluid deficits, electrolyte imbalance, and energy depletion, making it suitable for a wide range of clinical situations.
The dosage and rate of infusion of Acme's DNS Injection depend on the patient’s age, weight, fluid requirements, and clinical condition. Administration should be performed under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals. Regular monitoring of fluid balance, serum electrolytes, and blood glucose levels is recommended, especially during prolonged therapy.
For intravenous use only under medical supervision.
Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, renal impairment, hypertension, or congestive heart failure.
Rapid or excessive infusion may lead to hypernatremia, hyperglycemia, or fluid overload.
Frequent clinical and laboratory assessment is advised during use.
Potential adverse effects include:
Fluid overload and edema
Hyperglycemia
Electrolyte imbalance
Local infusion site reactions such as pain or phlebitis
If any adverse reaction occurs, the infusion should be slowed or discontinued as directed by a physician.
Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place. Do not freeze. Protect from direct sunlight. Do not use if the solution is cloudy or the container is damaged.
