Indications

Aciphin Injection 250 mg is indicated for:

• Urinary tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Bone and joint infections
• Meningitis caused by susceptible bacteria
• Septicemia and other systemic infections
• Certain sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea

Mechanism of Action

Ceftriaxone is a bactericidal antibiotic that:

• Binds to penicillin-binding proteins, inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis
• Causes bacterial cell lysis and death
• Exhibits broad-spectrum activity against aerobic and anaerobic bacteria

Dosage and Administration

• Adults: 250 mg to 2 g daily depending on the severity of infection; may be administered as a single daily dose or divided doses.
