Indications

Xyotil Plus Tablet is indicated for:

Pharmacology

Olmesartan Medoxomil
Olmesartan is a potent, orally active, selective AT1 receptor antagonist. By blocking the effects of angiotensin II, it reduces vasoconstriction and aldosterone-mediated sodium and water retention, resulting in decreased blood pressure.

Hydrochlorothiazide
Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that acts on the distal convoluted tubules in the kidney to inhibit sodium and chloride reabsorption. This promotes diuresis, reduces plasma volume, and lowers blood pressure. The combination of Olmesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide provides complementary mechanisms to achieve effective antihypertensive therapy.

Dosage and Administration

• Adults: One tablet of Xyotil Plus (20 mg + 12.5 mg) once daily, with or without food.

• Dose Adjustment:

  • Renal Impairment: Use with caution in patients with creatinine clearance <30 mL/min; monitoring is advised.

  • Hepatic Impairment: Use with caution in moderate to severe hepatic dysfunction.

• Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness have not been established.

For patients not adequately controlled on monotherapy, combination therapy provides superior blood pressure reduction. Tablets should be taken consistently at the same time each day.

Drug Interactions
