Telmivas HZ Tablet is a combination of Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide used for the effective management of high blood pressure (hypertension). This dual-action therapy helps relax blood vessels and remove excess fluid from the body, resulting in better and more sustained blood pressure control. It is commonly prescribed when single-agent therapy does not provide adequate results.

Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Telmisartan 40 mg
• Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg

Indications

Telmivas HZ Tablet is indicated for:

• Essential hypertension (mild to moderate)
• Patients not adequately controlled with monotherapy
• Combination therapy for resistant hypertension
• Reduction of cardiovascular risk in hypertensive patients
• Management of fluid-related hypertension

Mechanism of Action

This combination works through two complementary mechanisms:

• Telmisartan: An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II action, reducing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion.
• Hydrochlorothiazide: A thiazide diuretic that increases excretion of sodium and water through the kidneys, reducing blood volume and lowering blood pressure.

Together, they provide enhanced antihypertensive effects and improved cardiovascular protection.

Dosage & Administration

• Dosage should be determined by a physician based on patient condition
• Usually taken once daily at the same time each day
