Telmivas AM Tablet is a combination of Amlodipine Besilate and Telmisartan used for the effective management of high blood pressure (hypertension). This dual-action therapy helps relax blood vessels and improve blood flow, providing better and more sustained blood pressure control compared to single-agent treatment. It is commonly prescribed when monotherapy is not sufficient to achieve target blood pressure levels.

Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Amlodipine Besilate 5 mg
• Telmisartan 40 mg

Indications

Telmivas AM Tablet is indicated for:

• Essential hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Moderate to severe hypertension requiring combination therapy
• Patients not adequately controlled on single antihypertensive agents
• Reduction of cardiovascular risk in hypertensive patients
• Long-term blood pressure management

Mechanism of Action

This combination works through two complementary mechanisms:

• Amlodipine (Calcium Channel Blocker): Relaxes and widens blood vessels by inhibiting calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle, reducing vascular resistance.
• Telmisartan (ARB): Blocks angiotensin II receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and reducing aldosterone-mediated fluid retention.

Together, they provide synergistic blood pressure reduction and improved cardiovascular protection.

Dosage & Administration
