Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Spironolactone 25 mg

Indications

Spirocard Tablet is indicated for:

• Edema due to congestive heart failure
• Hypertension (as adjunct therapy)
• Ascites associated with liver cirrhosis
• Nephrotic syndrome (fluid retention)
• Primary hyperaldosteronism
• Hypokalemia prevention in patients on diuretics

Mechanism of Action

Spironolactone is an aldosterone antagonist that works on the distal renal tubules. It blocks aldosterone receptors, reducing sodium and water retention while decreasing potassium excretion. This results in increased urine output, reduced fluid overload, and improved blood pressure control without significant potassium loss.

Dosage & Administration

• Dosage is determined by a physician based on condition and response
• Usually taken once daily with or without food
• Should be taken at the same time each day for best results
• Regular monitoring of potassium levels and kidney function is recommended
