Radiglip-M Tablet 50 mg + 500 mg is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Sitagliptin 50 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg. It is used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus when blood glucose is not adequately controlled with diet, exercise, or monotherapy.
This fixed-dose combination improves glycemic control through two complementary mechanisms, targeting different aspects of glucose regulation.

Radiglip-M is indicated for:
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus
Patients inadequately controlled with metformin alone
Patients already taking sitagliptin and metformin separately
Combination therapy with other antidiabetic agents when prescribed
It is not indicated for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Inhibits the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4)
Increases levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP)
Enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion
Reduces glucagon release
Lowers postprandial and fasting blood glucose
Decreases hepatic glucose production
Improves insulin sensitivity
Reduces intestinal glucose absorption
Enhances peripheral glucose uptake
Together, these agents provide better overall glycemic control.
Usually taken twice daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
Dosage depends on prior therapy, blood glucose levels, and renal function.
Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew.
Renal function should be assessed before initiation and periodically during treatment.
Dual mechanism for improved blood glucose control
Low risk of hypoglycemia (when not combined with insulin or sulfonylureas)
Weight-neutral or modest weight benefit (due to metformin)
Convenient fixed-dose combination
Helps control both fasting and post-meal glucose levels
Common side effects:
Nausea
Diarrhea
Abdominal discomfort
Headache
Upper respiratory tract infection
Serious but rare side effects:
Lactic acidosis (associated with metformin)
Pancreatitis (associated with sitagliptin)
Hypoglycemia (especially if combined with insulin or sulfonylureas)
Allergic reactions
Seek immediate medical attention if severe abdominal pain, breathing difficulty, or unusual muscle pain occurs.
