Omastin 50 mg is a broad-spectrum triazole antifungal agent containing fluconazole, widely used for the treatment and prevention of various fungal infections. It works by inhibiting essential fungal enzymes required for cell membrane formation, making it highly effective against both superficial and systemic mycotic infections. Omastin 50 mg is suitable for use in normal individuals as well as in immunocompromised patients, including those with cancer, AIDS, or undergoing cytotoxic therapy.

Dermatophytic infections including tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea versicolor, and dermal candidial infections
Nail fungal infections
Systemic candidiasis including candidaemia and disseminated candidiasis
Cryptococcosis including cryptococcal meningitis and pulmonary or cutaneous infections
Prevention of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients, particularly those with neutropenia following chemotherapy or radiotherapy

Drugs for Subcutaneous and Mycoses
Omastin 50 mg contains fluconazole, a triazole antifungal that selectively inhibits fungal cytochrome P-450 dependent enzymes. These enzymes are essential for the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of the fungal cell membrane. Inhibition of ergosterol synthesis leads to increased membrane permeability and fungal cell death, resulting in effective eradication of infection.
