Nokof 375 mg Tablet is a mucolytic and expectorant medicine used in the management of a wide range of respiratory tract disorders associated with excessive, thick, or tenacious mucus production. It is formulated to improve mucus clearance from the airways, thereby easing breathing, reducing chest congestion, and relieving productive cough. Nokof 375 mg is suitable for both adult and pediatric patients when used according to medical advice and is commonly prescribed in acute as well as chronic respiratory conditions.
By modifying the composition and consistency of mucus, Nokof 375 mg supports effective expectoration and helps restore normal respiratory function. It plays an important role in conditions where abnormal mucus secretion contributes to airway obstruction and infection.

Nokof 375 mg works by reducing goblet cell hyperplasia, which is responsible for excessive mucus production in the respiratory tract. It exerts its mucolytic action through multiple mechanisms. The drug breaks disulphide bonds that cross-link glycoprotein molecules in thick sputum, thereby reducing mucus viscosity.
Additionally, mucus produced under the influence of Nokof 375 mg contains a higher proportion of sialomucin and a lower proportion of fucomucin, resulting in thinner, less sticky secretions. This combined effect increases sputum volume while making it easier to expel, ultimately improving mucociliary clearance and airway patency.
