Mizolam Tablet 7.5 mg contains Midazolam, a short-acting benzodiazepine widely used for its sedative, anxiolytic, and muscle-relaxant properties. This formulation is indicated for the management of acute anxiety, insomnia, and procedural sedation, providing rapid relief and promoting calmness in patients requiring short-term intervention. Mizolam offers a reliable option for controlled sedation under clinical supervision or for short-term use in outpatient settings.

Benzodiazepine / Sedative-Hypnotic
Mizolam Tablet 7.5 mg is indicated for:
Short-term relief of acute anxiety or agitation
Insomnia associated with anxiety
Procedural sedation for minor surgical or diagnostic interventions
Muscle relaxation in patients with spasticity or tension
Midazolam acts on the central nervous system by enhancing the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter. By binding to benzodiazepine receptors, it increases the frequency of chloride channel opening in neurons, resulting in:
Sedation and anxiolysis
Muscle relaxation
Anticonvulsant effects in certain conditions
Its rapid onset and short duration make it suitable for controlled, short-term use, minimizing prolonged sedation.
Adults: 7.5 mg orally, 30–60 minutes before the required sedative effect
Elderly or debilitated patients: Lower doses may be required due to increased sensitivity
Children: Use only under strict medical supervision; dosage must be individualized
Swallow the tablet whole with water; may be taken with or without food
Short-term use is recommended; prolonged therapy increases the risk of tolerance, dependence, and withdrawal symptoms
Common side effects may include:
Drowsiness or sedation
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Headache
Mild nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort
Less common but serious side effects:
Respiratory depression, especially at higher doses or with concomitant CNS depressants
Paradoxical reactions such as agitation, aggression, or hallucinations
Dependence, tolerance, and withdrawal symptoms after prolonged use
Hypotension or cardiac arrhythmias in sensitive patients
Hypersensitivity to Midazolam or other benzodiazepines
Severe respiratory insufficiency
Acute narrow-angle glaucoma
Pregnancy and lactation unless prescribed under strict medical supervision
Use caution in elderly, debilitated, or patients with impaired hepatic or renal function
Avoid alcohol or other CNS depressants while taking Mizolam
Not recommended for long-term use due to risk of dependence
Monitor patients for signs of excessive sedation or respiratory depression
Abrupt discontinuation after prolonged use may lead to withdrawal symptoms
Concomitant use with alcohol, opioids, or other sedatives may potentiate CNS depression
CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, erythromycin) can increase Midazolam plasma levels
CYP3A4 inducers (e.g., rifampin, carbamazepine) may reduce efficacy
Store below 30°C in a dry place
Protect from light and moisture
Keep out of reach of children
Midazolam enhances the inhibitory effects of GABA in the CNS by binding to benzodiazepine receptors, producing sedation, anxiolysis, and muscle relaxation. Its rapid onset and short duration make Mizolam 7.5 mg effective for acute management of anxiety, insomnia, or procedural sedation.
