Composition

• Active Ingredient: Miconazole Nitrate 2% w/w

Mechanism of Action

Miconazole Nitrate works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption leads to increased membrane permeability, causing leakage of cellular contents and ultimately resulting in the death of fungal cells. It also exhibits some antibacterial activity against certain gram-positive bacteria.

Indications

Miconex Cream 2% w/w is indicated for the treatment of:

• Athlete’s foot (Tinea pedis)
• Ringworm (Tinea corporis)
• Jock itch (Tinea cruris)
• Cutaneous candidiasis
• Pityriasis versicolor
• Fungal infections of skin folds

Dosage and Administration

• Apply a thin layer of the cream to the affected area, usually twice daily or as directed by a physician
• Clean and dry the affected area before application
• Gently rub the cream into the skin until fully absorbed
• Continue treatment for the full prescribed duration, even if symptoms improve earlier
