Cephradine is a bactericidal antibiotic that exerts its effect by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It interferes with the formation of the peptidoglycan layer of the bacterial cell wall, leading to structural instability and eventual cell death. Cephradine is resistant to many beta-lactamases produced by bacteria, which helps maintain its antibacterial activity. After oral administration, it is rapidly absorbed and distributed to various tissues and body fluids, achieving effective therapeutic concentrations.
The dosage and duration of treatment with Intracef Capsule 500 mg depend on the type and severity of infection and the patient’s clinical condition.
