Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Ivermectin 6 mg

Mechanism of Action

Ivermectin binds selectively to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels present in nerve and muscle cells of parasites. This increases the permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions, leading to paralysis and death of the parasite. It has minimal effect on human cells at recommended doses.

Indications

Imecta Tablet 6 mg is indicated for:

• Strongyloidiasis (intestinal threadworm infection)
• Onchocerciasis (river blindness)
• Scabies
• Head lice infestation
• Other parasitic infections as prescribed by a physician

Dosage and Administration

• To be taken orally as directed by a physician
• Usually taken as a single dose or as per treatment protocol
• Best taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water

Contraindications
