Gefinix Tablet 250 mg contains Gefitinib, a targeted anticancer medicine belonging to the class of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). It is primarily used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that expresses specific mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). By targeting abnormal cancer cell signaling pathways, Gefitinib helps slow tumor growth and improve disease control in eligible patients.
This medicine is used only under the supervision of an experienced oncologist and is an important option in personalized cancer therapy.

Mechanism of Action
Gefitinib works by selectively inhibiting the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase enzyme. EGFR is responsible for activating signaling pathways that promote cell growth, division, and survival. In certain cancers, EGFR becomes overactive or mutated, leading to uncontrolled tumor growth.
By blocking EGFR activity, Gefitinib interrupts these signals, leading to reduced cancer cell proliferation, induction of cancer cell death (apoptosis), and slowing of tumor progression.
