Pharmacological Action

Bepotastine Besilate works through a dual mechanism. It acts as a selective histamine H1-receptor antagonist and also stabilizes mast cells. By blocking histamine release and preventing further inflammatory mediator secretion, it effectively reduces allergic responses in the eyes. This dual action helps control both immediate and delayed allergy symptoms.

Indications

Eyetin Eye Drop is indicated for the treatment and prevention of symptoms associated with allergic conjunctivitis, including:

• Itching of the eyes

• Redness and inflammation

• Excessive tearing or watery eyes

• Swelling of the conjunctiva

• Burning or foreign body sensation caused by allergens

It is suitable for patients suffering from seasonal or perennial eye allergies triggered by pollen, dust, animal dander, or other environmental allergens.

Dosage and Administration

• Instill one drop into the affected eye(s) twice daily, or as directed by a physician.

• The interval between doses should be approximately 8 hours.

• For ophthalmic use only.

Patients should wash their hands before use and avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination. If using other eye medications, allow a gap of at least 5 minutes between applications.

• Not recommended for patients with known hypersensitivity to Bepotastine Besilate or any component of the formulation

• Contact lenses should be removed before instillation and can be reinserted after at least 15 minutes
