Doltro Injection 60 mg/2 ml contains Ketorolac Tromethamine 60 mg, a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the short-term management of moderate to severe pain. Administered parenterally, this formulation provides rapid onset of analgesia, making it ideal for postoperative pain, musculoskeletal injuries, renal colic, or other acute pain conditions where immediate relief is needed.
Ketorolac is highly effective in reducing pain and inflammation by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, the chemical mediators responsible for pain, swelling, and fever. Unlike opioid analgesics, Doltro Injection does not cause significant sedation or dependence, making it a safe and effective option for short-term pain management under medical supervision.
This injection is particularly useful for patients unable to take oral medication, those requiring rapid pain relief, or in clinical settings such as hospitals, emergency departments, and post-surgical recovery units.

Non-opioid therapy, minimizing risk of dependence
Suitable for patients unable to take oral NSAIDs
Effective for short-term management in hospital or clinical settings
Ketorolac Tromethamine is a non-selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2). COX enzymes catalyze the production of prostaglandins, which are responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever.
Analgesic effect: Reduces pain by inhibiting prostaglandin-mediated stimulation of nociceptive nerve endings.
Anti-inflammatory effect: Decreases inflammation and swelling by reducing prostaglandin-induced vasodilation and fluid accumulation.
Antipyretic effect: Helps in lowering fever by modulating hypothalamic prostaglandin activity.
By targeting these pathways, Doltro Injection provides rapid and effective relief from moderate to severe pain in a short period of time.
The usual adult dose is 60 mg (2 ml) intramuscularly (IM) or intravenously (IV) as a single dose.
The maximum recommended daily dose is 120 mg (given as 60 mg every 6 hours) for short-term use, not exceeding 5 days.
Administer IV slowly over 15–30 seconds to reduce the risk of local irritation or adverse reactions.
For IM injection, inject into a large muscle mass (e.g., gluteal or thigh muscle).
Monitor patients for adverse effects, particularly those with renal, hepatic, or cardiovascular conditions.
Not recommended for patients with active gastrointestinal bleeding, peptic ulcer disease, severe renal impairment, or known hypersensitivity to NSAIDs.
Avoid concomitant use with other NSAIDs, anticoagulants, or corticosteroids unless prescribed.
Use cautiously in elderly patients and those with cardiovascular disease.
Not advised during late pregnancy due to potential fetal risks.
Monitor for signs of gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney dysfunction, or allergic reactions during therapy.
