Barinix Tablet 2 mg contains Baricitinib, an oral targeted immunomodulatory agent used in the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory disorders. Baricitinib belongs to the class of Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors and works by suppressing overactive immune responses that contribute to chronic inflammation. It is primarily prescribed for rheumatoid arthritis and has also been used in other inflammatory conditions under medical guidance.

Active Ingredient: Baricitinib
Strength: 2 mg
Dosage Form: Tablet
Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor
Disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD)
Barinix Tablet 2 mg is indicated for:
Moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis in adults who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to one or more disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs
Management of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions as prescribed by a specialist
Reduction of joint pain, swelling, and stiffness associated with chronic inflammatory diseases
Baricitinib is usually used as monotherapy or in combination with other DMARDs, depending on the patient’s condition.
Baricitinib selectively inhibits Janus kinase 1 (JAK1) and Janus kinase 2 (JAK2), enzymes involved in the signaling pathways of several pro-inflammatory cytokines. By blocking these pathways, baricitinib reduces cytokine-mediated inflammation and immune activation.
This mechanism leads to:
Decreased inflammatory response
Reduction in joint inflammation and pain
Improvement in physical function and quality of life
Baricitinib provides targeted immunosuppression without broadly suppressing the entire immune system when used at recommended doses.
The usual recommended dose is 2 mg once daily, or as directed by a physician.
The tablet should be swallowed whole with water.
It may be taken with or without food.
Dose adjustments may be required in patients with renal impairment.
Barinix Tablet is generally well tolerated, but some patients may experience:
Upper respiratory tract infections
Headache
Nausea
Increased cholesterol levels
Elevated liver enzymes
Most side effects are manageable with regular monitoring.

Increased risk of infections, including serious infections, due to immune suppression.
Patients should be screened for tuberculosis and viral hepatitis before starting therapy.
Use with caution in patients with a history of thrombosis or cardiovascular disease.
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless clearly necessary.
Regular monitoring of blood counts, liver function, and lipid levels is advised.
Caution is advised when used with other immunosuppressive agents. Strong inhibitors of organic anion transporter 3 (OAT3) may increase baricitinib levels and require dose adjustment.
