Avlosef Pediatric Drop contains Cephradine, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic widely used in children to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Cephradine works by killing bacteria through inhibition of cell wall synthesis, ultimately leading to bacterial cell death. It is effective against both Gram-positive and some Gram-negative organisms.

Indications

Avlosef Pediatric Drop is prescribed for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including:

• Upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media)
• Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)
• Urinary tract infections (cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis)
• Skin and soft tissue infections (cellulitis, abscess, impetigo)
• Other bacterial infections as directed by a physician

Composition

• Active Ingredient: Cephradine
• Strength: 125 mg per 1.25 ml

Mechanism of Action

Cephradine acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It interferes with the formation of peptidoglycan, an essential component of the bacterial cell wall. This causes weakening and rupture of the cell wall, resulting in bacterial death.

Dosage & Administration
