Indications

Andepram Tablet 5 mg is indicated for:

• Major Depressive Disorder (MDD): Alleviates symptoms of persistent sadness, loss of interest, and emotional distress.

• Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Reduces excessive anxiety, worry, and tension.

• Panic Disorder: Helps decrease the frequency and severity of panic attacks.

• Social Anxiety Disorder (Social Phobia): Reduces social fear, avoidance, and discomfort in social situations.

It is intended for use in adults and may be used in adolescents under careful medical supervision.

Pharmacology

Escitalopram is a highly selective SSRI that blocks the reuptake of serotonin (5-HT) in the presynaptic neurons of the central nervous system. By preventing serotonin reabsorption, it increases serotonin availability in the synaptic cleft, enhancing neurotransmission and improving mood and emotional regulation.
