Adinir Suspension 125 mg/5 ml contains Cefdinir, a third-generation oral cephalosporin antibiotic used for the treatment of a variety of bacterial infections in infants and children. Cefdinir is known for its broad-spectrum activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. The suspension formulation allows accurate dosing and easy administration, making it particularly suitable for pediatric patients. Adinir Suspension helps relieve infection-related symptoms and supports effective bacterial eradication when used as prescribed.

Adinir Suspension 125 mg/5 ml is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:
Upper respiratory tract infections
Lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia
Acute otitis media
Acute bacterial sinusitis
Pharyngitis and tonsillitis
Skin and soft tissue infections
Treatment should be guided by bacteriological studies whenever possible to reduce the development of antibiotic resistance.
Third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic
Cefdinir exerts its antibacterial action by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to specific penicillin-binding proteins, disrupting the final stage of peptidoglycan formation, which is essential for bacterial cell wall integrity. This results in weakening of the cell wall and eventual bacterial cell lysis and death. Cefdinir is effective against a wide range of organisms and is resistant to many beta-lactamases produced by common pathogens.
Adinir Suspension is intended for oral administration.
The usual pediatric dose is determined based on body weight and the severity of infection
Common dosing regimens include once or twice daily administration as directed by a physician
The suspension should be shaken well before each use to ensure uniform distribution
May be taken with or without food
The full prescribed course should be completed even if symptoms improve early.
Concomitant administration with iron-containing supplements or iron-fortified foods may reduce the absorption of Cefdinir. If both are required, they should be taken at least 2 hours apart. Antacids containing aluminum or magnesium may also reduce Cefdinir absorption and should be spaced appropriately.
Adinir Suspension 125 mg/5 ml is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Cefdinir, other cephalosporins, or any component of the formulation.

Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and skin rash. Red discoloration of stool may occur when Cefdinir is taken with iron-containing products and is harmless. Rare but serious adverse effects may include allergic reactions, pseudomembranous colitis, and blood dyscrasias.
Caution is advised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, particularly colitis. Patients with known penicillin allergy should be monitored carefully due to possible cross-reactivity. Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms.
Cefdinir should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Caution is advised when administering to breastfeeding mothers, as small amounts may be excreted in breast milk.
Store below 30°C before reconstitution. After reconstitution, store the suspension at room temperature and use within the period specified by the manufacturer. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
